Episode 14.1 [BONUS] - End of Season 1 Chat
Tuesday Jul 30, 2024
Tuesday Jul 30, 2024
With us all heading off to our respective corners of the globe for a short period, Eddie and Jack wrap up what you might call 'Series 1' of Wash Your Gi—if you view this as a professional production anyway!
In this short episode, we talk about our plans for the next season, review how well Eddie's first year of Jiu-Jitsu has gone, and extract key lessons from this period.
Massive thank you to everyone who has made Eddie's jiu-jitsu journey something that has lasted a year and given us the stories, questions, and horrible lessons in sparring that we've spoken about. Also, shout out to Seth, as ever! And thank you to everyone who has listened, from Zimbabwe to Georgia.
And here's to the next few years! (Or six months minimum/until no-gi leaves a bitter taste.)
Remember to leave us a review on Spotify!

Episode 8 - Pulling Guard / Admission of Guilt
Wednesday Jun 12, 2024
Wednesday Jun 12, 2024
Episode 8!
Eddie's been racking up the classes these past two weeks with varying levels of *cough* success (read: not much). We dive into the three main types of guard, take a comedic plunge into the Japanese language, and spend a solid 30 minutes just shouting "WOOO" at each other. We also cover strength training, recovery tips, and answer burning FAQs like how to stay on track with your sessions and the appropriateness of using a pen and paper during class.
And, in a twist of fate, Eddie commits the most heinous crime known to our gym—an offense so grave, he should definitely be paying a price in the weeks to come!
